Dutchess County Fair 2026 is in the books 🙂

A huge thank you to Zofia and Mark who put in a great effort this year in order to make going to the show possible. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to allow for fun days like the fair to happen. Also thank you to the family members who also stepped up to pitch in 🙂 Although these are all the pictures Lilly received in KY, you can tell a lot of fun was had. Great job to Cami for Reserve Champion. Penelope received her highest scoring place ever, and Zofia and “May” got back into the jumping ring. Sadly, Zena and Cami are not pictured here in the costume class because the show ran early on Tuesday. Sky Farm participation was greatly missed of course 🙂 Oh well… guess we are going to have to do our trail/obstacle class in costume soon and maybe something to Halloween 🙂

Dressage:
Thursday- Lilly 9:12 am, Wave 2:18 am
Cross County:
Friday- Lilly 12:52 pm, Wave 2:00 pm
Stadium- Both horses are listed for 2:00 pm. The order to go will be last ranked horse goes first and so on and so forth.

7/23-7/26 “Wave” and “Lilly” successfully competed at Millbrook Horse Trials. Jillian did a great job with both horses especially since we moved her and Wave up. They came in 3rd!! Lilly missed the ribbons this year due to one rail in stadium but otherwise did great. Abby was there to groom and for support. Michael could be seen fence judging. Thank you to all the volunteers that help to run Millbrook.

We have some big news!!! Jillian, Abby, and Lilly will be traveling to Kentucky Horse Park in a few short weeks. Jillian qualified with both horses to compete in USEA Eventing Championships. This is a wonderful opportunity that she just found out about, but a very expensive one. Please consider supporting her on this amazing adventure. A Gofundme will be started in the next day or so. Any private donations can be dropped off to Lilly at the barn as well.

6/21/26- A 3:00 AM morning!!! Some how they don’t seem to get any easier but we did prevail!!! What a good start to the season 🙂 Even though dressage started off a bit rough…. “Lilly” lost a shoe in dressage warm-up and ended up riding her test with out it and “Wave” was left alone for dressage without a buddy which he said was a big no no! Both jumped well for stadium and XC with double clear. You can’t ask for better! Jillian rode strategically today and Emme and Abby brought their A game to crew. A solid team effort today!! This was a new venue for us and we had a wonderful time especially at the Pony Club used tack sale 🙂

🙂 “Lilly” and “Sonic” always have a blast but to have 3 smiling horses and people is such a pleasure. Mission accomplished 🙂 Today “Shamus” came along for some fun since he has really enjoyed the trails. May was not up for an outing so we thought why not give him this opportunity and he embraced it with open hooves. What a fun and funny day 🙂

Last month we welcomed Brianna back but this time with her own horse!!! Meet Lola who Brianna purchased in the fall of 2024. She was told Lola was a 15–year-old appendix mare who previously belonged to someone in 4-H 🙂 However, we recently found a lip tattoo so it is time to do some investigating. Lola is settling in well with the other mares. We decided to rethink her training plan and will treat her as a complete restart to give her a solid foundation. So far Brianna is making solid progress with Lola 🙂

Welcome to Sky Farm Shamus, a 15.3 hand gelding born in 2003. Shamus is an Appaloosa/Suffolk Punch who is stepping down from the UNH lesson program to join us at Sky Farm! Select riders will get to know this friendly guy. Even though Shamus likes people, we were told he prefers his space when riding with other horses. We were also told that he wants to enjoy the trails, some WTC, and that he should be limited to jumping only small fences and only on occasion due to his age. Fun fact about Shamus, he has a huge head and a mustache!
