When her caretaker could no longer provide care for her, Sprinkles came to us for a fresh start. After spending more than 160 days in our care, she’s eager to find a new best friend. This sweet Purina-Pet-of-the-Week is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair who loves exploring her environment, following people around, and being part of everyday life.

🐾 Happy Tails! Did you meet your perfect match at Animal Humane Society? Renee did, and her story of Ms. Stanley and Cleo is pure joy. 💗

“We adopted Miss Stanley in August 2023. She came from Mississippi and was heartworm positive when we adopted her. She was very timid when we brought her home, afraid of many things. We gave her lots of love and patience, and she soon became the Queen of our house.

In August 2025 we decided she needed a companion to help motivate her to walk more, so we adopted Miss Cleo. Cleo is such a fun dog, constantly wanting to play. She and Ms. Stanley have settled in together and have become friends. They love their walks together; Cleo has brought a lot of fun to our house! Here’s a picture of the 2 of them staring at me patiently asking me to take them for a walk.”

Happy $2 Tuesday! A gift of just $2 can make a world of difference for vulnerable animals and the people who love them — like ChiChi, for example.

ChiChi arrived at AHS with her former caretaker, who was experiencing homelessness. She’d turned to AHS to help her beloved dog find a new beginning. At first, ChiChi was scared of her new surroundings, cowering and barking whenever staff approached. With plenty of treats and encouragement from staff, we were able to earn her trust and assess her medical needs.

Not only was ChiChi notably underweight, she also had an upper respiratory infection and would eventually need spay surgery as well as crucial vaccines. As she gained weight and received treatment for her cold, a new light began to shine in ChiChi’s brown eyes, and she showed us just how loving she could be. It didn’t take long for this sweet pup to find a loving home.

“We adopted Taoh a year ago from the Woodbury location! We are so grateful to have him in our lives. He loves everyone he meets. He’ll greet strangers with a sit, then whimper and wag his tail for pets! He loves to give kisses and has taught his dog sister how to play some fun new games. He brings energy, joy, and the best kind of chaos to our home. Most of all, he brings so much love! We love this sweet potato and are so grateful to Animal Humane Society for bringing us together.”
