Happy Father's Day to all the great dads out there! Also to a doggy dad, Gabriel, who has sired a litter with Zara. Yes, Zara is pregnant! We are so excited, as we know you are. Gabriel is a wonderful boy from Royalaire. Related to Big Rig, good hips and Embark clear. This should be a fabulous litter! There is other good news as well. Fireball came along on the ride here with her pup from Arkansas, and is going to be staying with Penni so that we can get her bred this summer. We have a terrific repro vet here and all the tools we need to make a nice big litter. So those of you who have been patiently waiting will finally be rewarded! Woohoo!

Congratulations to Anne on her Rally Excellent B title! She is very happy with Ladybug doing so well. Rally is a tough sport! Anne has been so persistent with her training and has explained some of the moves to me. Like sending the dog out to do a jump on a diagonal then come back and sit at heel. We are so proud of both of them!

Here is the tale of two dogs. One of them eats almost anything. Raw cauliflower? lettuce? peppers? yum! Just no bananas. Cherie eats her bowl of food in 30-45 seconds. The other one? Lucca has to be called three times to come eat. Stares at his food like it’s nasty. Homemade roast duck and vegetables? With a dab of chinese food and a spoonful of canned food on top? Meh. I put a cookie on it. He stares out the window. Picks up the cookie and drops it. Looks at me like, are you trying to poison me? Meanwhile, Cherie is drooling like a St. Bernard and so hoping I will leave and let her sn**ch something out of Lucca’s bowl.
I bite my tongue, make happy sounds, (yummy! good boy! delicious! ) and wait. Fifteen minutes later he’s eaten half and he’s done. Big yawn. Repeat tonight. How do your dogs eat?
