Wet Dog Farm

Wet Dog Farm We have farm fresh eggs for sale, home made soap in a variety of scents, and will take orders for sourdough bread and soft pretzels.

Wet Dog Farm was established in March 2013 when we (Tom and Barb Fish) returned to the States from Australia where we had been living since 2003. Wet Dog Farm is primarily a hobby farm with cows and chickens that we are raising for self sustenance. Over the course of 2013 we learned a great deal about fencing and fence repair, how to raise chickens and other livestock, how to garden and canning wh

at is produced from the garden, as well as some wood working projects. There never seems to be a dull moment at Wet Dog Farm. Friends and locals are welcome to check out the farm, sit a spell and enjoy some of our locally prepared goodies.

Update on Tungsten: For the last couple of days he has had some issues/weakness in his remaining rear leg, making it very difficult to walk, and do other business. Went to the vet today and had xrays done. There are no skeletal issues. He curls his toes when he tries to stand and cant put any weight on it at all today. Doc believes that he may have a pinched nerve somewhere along his spine which would account for the curling of the toes. He is on prednisone (which makes them p*e more....great eh?) and hopefully that will help to alleviate the issue. Doc said it could be a few days before he starts putting weight on it.

Update on Tungsten: He is doing awesome! To watch him run after a ball, jump and catch it, then dive into the pond you wouldnt even believe he just had major surgery 3 weeks ago. I dont think he even realizes the leg is missing. His spirit is back and he is back to his old self. Now we pray that the cancer did not spread to his lungs or that if it did we can keep it under control with his supplements.

Tungsten is recovering beautifully. He wants to get out there and play, but cant do much until after stitches come out on Monday...then he can pretty much get back to normal playing. I can see the sense of relief with the pain of the cancer leg gone

Ceduna is the newest addition to Wet Dog Farm...we now have 3 blue heelers and one red heeler. She is about 8 weeks old and already fitting in nicely here at the farm; swimming, wrestling, running all over the place and playing ball.

Mid fall 2013, Wet Dog Farm saw the arrival of 6 cows, 5 heifers and one steer. Within weeks the herd was culled to just 3 cows, 2 heifers and a steer. All 3 cows were bred back at the time of purchase. On December 6th 2013 Cocoa puff was born...of course the day was blustery, cold, and rainy. Two weeks later, on Dec 20th 2013, Sir Loin was born, looking like he was ready to snort and buck as bulls will do. We await the arrival of one more calf in early 2014.
