Here are 5 key symptoms to watch for:

⚠️Vomiting & Diarrhoea: Often the first signs.
⚠️Lethargy & Weakness: Acting unusually tired or wobbly.
⚠️Tremors & Seizures: Shaking or uncontrolled movements.
⚠️Changes in Appetite/Thirst: Sudden disinterest in food or excessive drinking.
⚠️Difficulty Breathing: Laboured breathing or coughing.

If you see any of these signs, contact your vet ASAP! Don't wait!

⚠️ COLD & SNOW WEATHER ALERT — PET SAFETY ⚠️
Snow and extreme cold are moving into Montgomery County, with overnight temperatures dropping into the teens and dangerous wind chills expected.

These conditions are dangerous for pets, even those considered “outdoor pets.” If you can bring your pets inside, please do — this is the safest option during snow and freezing temperatures.

If an animal must remain outside (only as a last resort), ensure they have proper shelter, straw bedding (not blankets), fresh unfrozen water, and extra food. Watch closely for signs of hypothermia and seek emergency veterinary care if needed.

If you see a pet left outdoors without proper shelter in these conditions, please contact MCACC so we can check on their welfare. If you need supplies or cold-weather pet resources, give us a call and our team can help guide / connect you with available options.
