Happy Halloween to all our Facebook besties. I want to take a minute just to say remember the safety rules for you and your children and to also think about your pets because they could be frightened with the different costumes and all the chaos going on with Halloween you may want to take extra precautions opening your door to give trick-or-treaters treats so that your dog or cat doesn’t run out. Also, if you’re driving, please go a little bit slower today and mind what is going on around you especially with small children and pets. I know we’ll be trick-or-treating tonight with one of our pets, but he’s very steady and doesn’t get scared of anything. We have a lot of puppies here that would love to have a bone thrown their way for Halloween so if you feel like sending a little something to the beautiful souls here waiting for their forever families they would love that. We’re gonna let today be the beginning of our Fall Food drive. We are going to try to get enough bags of food to get us through fall. So if you ever have been lucky enough to find a friend or family member at Rescue Acres, maybe consider sending a bag in their name. It will add up very quickly if everyone can send something. Everyone be safe and we’ll post pictures of Dookie our personal dog trick-or-treating tonight we’re going to be in Westfield I think it is the Lakes of Westfield neighborhood

We had a lot of people asking about the Puppies that we took to the vet today. Here’s what we know we know Mom is a Labradoodle. She weighs about 35 pounds. The Puppies could be mixed with anything but we do believe that it is something big maybe a mastiff mix because the two males have the brindle coloring the little female who is black with some red on her legs could possibly have a different father we don’t know we couldn’t tell you. Mom came here and two weeks after she gave birth. We had no idea she was even pregnant she actually had an appointment to be spayed. What we do now they’re very beautiful and sweet babies who appear to be very stocky and they also have short legs so we’re just not sure.

So some of you will be watching Breeders’ Cup tomorrow, and if you are my beautiful daughter will be leading some of those extraordinarily expensive horses to the gate. This is her with her mare, Ruth Ann. Ruth ran for me by her jockey Club name, Indiana Ruth when she ran under me and my daughter has had her since we retired her years ago and she does an amazing job and I believe she is the only girl Horse in the field leading horses to the gate it’s a very rare to have a mare out there doing this …. And that my friends is girl power

ITS FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY AGAIN!! What does that mean? It’s where we come to you and ask you to contribute five dollars towards the cost of us running our Rescue. Today we are at Cornerstone Vet getting some Puppies checked out and making some appointments for spay and neuters. The second picture is one of our Alumni here at the vet today with its new family for its check up. Your contributions help us run our day-to-day operation. There are so many needs running a Rescue. Gas for appointment such as that grooming and transports. Then there is just the typical maintenance to maintain our vehicle to be able to do these things. On top of that there’s food treats, medicines, flea and tick medication’s cleaning supplies, disinfecting supplies, laundry detergent, bedding supplies and there’s probably some more in there that I forgot, but anyways, if you could help us out that would be wonderful. I will put all our links below. I think next week we’re going to be doing our fall Food drive and try to get stocked up on food through the new year.

A lot of you guys know that we have a racehorse business and I thought I would post this of my daughter and her fiancé who are at Breeder’s Cup in Lexington at Keeneland. Her fiancé is on one of the Breeder cup sprint horses named Built. He will be running for $2 million on Saturday and my daughter will most likely be leading him to the gates as she will be leading a lot of the horses to the gates that day. Anyways, I wished it was our Horse, but it’s not.

This is Pocket, she is one of the Wolfhound doodle lab mix Puppies that came in a few months ago. She has been returned through no fault of her own because the people could not care for her any longer. She is housebroken crate trained wonderful with kids and cats. She probably weighs about 25 pounds and we don’t anticipate her getting much bigger.

Sweet Olive is growing up so fast here at Rescue. She desperately needs her forever family. She is playful great with dogs, kids cats and just needs some direction. She’s a very quick learner and she’s going to make a family very happy. We are waiving her 💰 in lieu of a large bag of Purina one dog or puppy food
