It’s not “just a haircut.”
Every so often someone asks why dog grooming costs what it does, or says, “It’s just a haircut.”
The truth is, professional grooming is so much more than making a dog look cute.
When you bring your dog to me, you’re paying for years of hands-on experience, continuing education, professional-grade equipment, safe handling skills, and individualized care. You’re paying for someone who can recognize skin issues, work patiently with nervous dogs, handle senior pets with extra care, and create a positive experience tailored to your dog’s needs.
As groomers, we also see your dog in a way that very few people do. During a groom, I am able to examine every inch of your pet from nose to tail. Many times, groomers are the first to notice new lumps, bumps, skin irritations, ear issues, parasites, or other changes that may need veterinary attention.
Behind every groom are thousands of dollars in equipment, regular maintenance, insurance, supplies, training, and countless hours spent improving my craft. Every dog is different, and every groom requires skill, patience, and attention to detail.
Most importantly, you’re trusting me with a member of your family.
I take that responsibility seriously, and I strive to give every dog the same level of care, kindness, and attention that I would want for my own.
So no, it’s not just a haircut. It’s professional care, safety, knowledge, attention to detail, and a whole lot of love for what I do. 💕🐾
