My son just discovered a life hack…

Apparently, if Dad starts talking about a spanking, you can simply stand behind the family protection dog and let him handle the negotiations. 😂

Needless to say, our protection dog takes his job very seriously. The kid has already figured out that having a four-legged bodyguard comes with some pretty solid benefits.

Sorry, Dad. You’re outnumbered. 🐾

Four hours on the phone every day doesn’t sound like much—until you do the math. Over the course of a year, that’s 1,460 hours. That’s more than 36 full-time workweeks, or nearly half a year of productive time. Time that could have been spent training dogs, coaching owners, developing employees, creating content, improving systems, and growing the business. The phone doesn’t just cost time—it costs opportunity. Every hour spent answering repetitive questions is an hour not spent doing the work that directly benefits the dogs and families who have entrusted us with their training.

With that being said, we are truly sorry if we missed your call, text, or failed to connect when expected. We understand how frustrating that can be, and we never want anyone to feel ignored. The reality is that we are a small team, and our highest priority has always been providing exceptional care and training for the dogs currently in our program. While we do our best to respond to every inquiry as quickly as possible, there are times when we’re on the training field, working hands-on with dogs, coaching clients, or caring for animals, and those responsibilities must come first. We care deeply about every person who reaches out to us, but we care even more about delivering the quality of training that our clients are paying for. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, appreciate your understanding, and hope to have the opportunity to earn your trust moving forward.

This clip is actually a great example of a dog being so right and so fast that the handler gets left behind. Eli nailed the hide almost instantly, and I was about 5 seconds late with the mark and reward.

Now, to most people, 5 seconds doesn’t sound like much. In dog training? That’s basically two summers, a presidential election, and a mortgage payment. 😂

It’s a good reminder that professional dog trainers aren’t perfect. We make mistakes, miss timing, and get outworked by our dogs sometimes too. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s learning, improving, and helping the dog succeed.

Thankfully, Eli is making us look good despite ourselves. Great job, buddy! 👏🐕💥

Nevaeh is making huge strides in her explosives detection training. Today we’re challenging her by introducing different odor containers, teaching her that the target odor remains the same no matter what it’s presented in.

This is a critical step in building a reliable detection dog. We don’t want dogs searching for a specific container—we want them searching for odor. Watching the lightbulb come on and seeing her confidently work through these new challenges is incredibly rewarding.

Every rep, every search, and every problem solved brings her one step closer to becoming an exceptional detection dog. Keep up the great work, Nevaeh! 👏🐾

Most people see the finished product. They see the trained dogs, the new projects, the improvements, and the success. What they don’t see are the long days and even longer nights that make it all possible.

This is just a small glimpse into one project we’re working on. Behind the scenes, we’re also talking with clients, training dogs, caring for animals, managing employees, maintaining the property, answering messages, handling paperwork, and trying to keep everything moving forward at the same time.

Being self-employed isn’t a 9-to-5. It’s early mornings, late nights, and constantly juggling priorities. Some days are exhausting, but building something you’re proud of makes every bit of the effort worth it.

To all the small business owners, entrepreneurs, and hardworking families out there grinding day and night—we see you. Keep pushing forward.

Think your dog’s obedience is solid? What about around a bulldozer?

We’re always looking for ways to challenge our dogs with real-world distractions. Loud noises, heavy equipment, movement, and unpredictable environments can quickly expose holes in a dog’s training.

Today, she proved just how reliable her obedience has become. Staying focused and responsive around a working bulldozer isn’t something most dogs encounter every day, but that’s exactly why we train for it.

Training isn’t about what your dog can do in a quiet living room. It’s about what they can do when the world gets loud, exciting, and distracting.

We’re always improving, always proofing behaviors, and always raising the standard. And today, she absolutely crushed it. 💪🐾

If you need help building reliable obedience with your dog, we’d love to help.
