The Trails at Leatherman Lane

We are excited to welcome riders back to The Trails at Leatherman Lane on October 7th!!

Our trails are closed to the public and for our boarders and their guests only now. Once a year we allow those with their own horses to trailer in to participate in the Ride Jen Ride trail ride, benefitting the Go Jen Go! Foundation.

For just $20 you can trailer in and spend the day at the Horse Lovers Day at Leatherman Lane festival with your horse... listening to music, grabbing a beer, shopping, and riding our trails at either the 10a or 2p group trail rides. Take a parade lap through the vendor arena after the ride and 1 lucky participant at each time will win something from Ridge Creek Tack just for being part of this event!

To register, please send an email to [email protected] with TRAIL RIDE in the subject line. We will get you the registration form and instructions to pay your $20 registration fee. You will return the form with a screenshot of the payment & your horses coggins via Email.

Advance registration is required to participate in this event! The cutoff to register is Friday, October 6th at 2pm.

You must have your own horse to participate in this trail ride (we do not rent horses here)

We cant wait to see y'all out here with your horses for this amazing day for a great cause! 🤎🐴

These trails are open to our boarders year round and to a small number of outside guests by appointment only.
This is a private facility & we do not rent horses or take people for trail rides here, sorry.

The 2nd annual "Detect, Discuss & Defeat Breast Cancer" event at Leatherman Lane is set for September 17th, so mark your calendars now!
The "Ride Jen Ride" trail ride takes place on The Trails at Leatherman Lane and is one of the few opportunities outside horses have to ride our trails outside of the Horsemanship Clinic Series at Leatherman Lane.
Here are some highlights from the 2021 event. We hope to see you and your horses here in 2022!

As a reminder, The Trails at Leatherman Lane are open year round to our boarders, and by appointment only to outside guests who have their own horse. WE DO NOT RENT HORSES OR TAKE PEOPLE FOR TRAIL RIDES HERE (sorry).

Just a reminder as we head into summer, snakes are out and about in NC already! While we do work hard to keep dangerous snakes away from our property, there is always a risk that you may see (or come in contact with) a snake while enjoying our trails. Please keep an eye out and use caution when walking or riding! Be sure to message us if you see anything slithering around that isnt a black snake (we like those because they eat the bad ones). We want everyone to be safe and aware, so are sharing this informative video about the venomous snakes found here in NC. Personally, we have only ever encountered the copperhead, though not one that weve found has ever lived past that first meeting! 🤠

According to the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, there are 37 species of snakes in our state. Six of those are venomous.

We are planning another volunteer day at The Trails at Leatherman Lane THIS Saturday (5/4) :) Volunteers will meet in the parking lot on the trail side of the facility (across from the farm located at 3175 Odell School Rd) at 9:30am!

We will be cleaning up the trails, so bring your rake, leaf blower, or just a pair of gloves to help pick up sticks... whatever you want to do to help us make it pretty again after all the rain, we welcome your help! .

The trails look more like a rain forest today...
We have often wondered what they looked like in a hard rain & imagined the force with which the water could cut such a deep gorge. Now we know!
We obviously have more clean up and repair to do after this last storm, but are very thankful there wasn't any major damage.
We are looking forward to reopening the trails as soon as possible & will keep ya'll posted here... Thanks for your patience!
