Some of you may have seen recent news involving another Northern California animal rescue and concerns around transparency, funding, and the placement of difficult dogs.
We are not here to speak on allegations or pass judgment. But we do want to use this moment to reaffirm who we are and what we stand for.
At SNAP & Rescue, transparency is not optional. It is the foundation of everything we do.
We have never transferred one of our dogs to Miranda’s Rescue. In fact, we would never transfer one of our dogs to another rescue, ever. When we take a dog in, we make a commitment to see that dog through.
We do not put ourselves in positions we cannot responsibly handle, because that is not ethical rescue. That is not responsible rescue. Every dog in our care is temperament evaluated so we can make thoughtful, safe decisions about foster and adoptive placement.
We also want our donors to know exactly where their support goes: to the dogs.
We are 100% volunteer. We do not pay ourselves. We do not use donor funds for personal expenses.
Your donations help cover vaccines, medical care, food, collars, leashes, crates, dog training, adoption event supplies, and the basic tools we need to recruit fosters, volunteers, and adopters. We stretch every dollar as far as we can, seek donations whenever possible, and make careful choices because every gift matters.
Rescue work is emotional, imperfect, and often difficult. But our promise is simple:
We will be honest.
We will be transparent.
We will be responsible.
And we will always see our dogs through.
And because every serious rescue post deserves a little eye candy, please enjoy this adorable photo of some of our adoptable puppies, currently accepting applications, snacks, and compliments.
Thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and being part of this mission.
