Snack time at Meezerpaws Cattery 🐈

Last night, I curled beside your bed,
just like I used to.
You couldn’t see me,
but your heart felt the soft shift of the air—
the way love still lingers
even after paws have stopped moving.

You were wiping tears you thought no one saw.
So I whispered,
right into the ache beneath your ribs:
“It’s me…
I’m here.
I’m okay.”

When you poured your morning tea today,
I brushed against your leg the way I always did.
Your hand reached for me out of habit,
and though it passed through only light,
I felt the warmth of your touch
just the same.

I watched you visit the place people call my grave,
laying flowers with trembling fingers.
But love, please listen—
that is not where I sleep.
That spot holds fur and memory,
but not me.
I walk beside you still.

You paused for a moment,
looked up at the sky,
and for a heartbeat
you smiled—
as if you sensed me sitting right there,
my tail curled around your grief.

I follow you through every quiet hour,
every lonely night,
every soft sigh you release into the empty spaces
where I once lived.

Please believe me when I say this,
as deeply as a soul can speak:

I never left.
Not for a second.
Not even for a breath.
I never went away.
