If a horse will let me… I’m getting all up in their business 😅
And here’s why 👇
That “butt” is the powerhouse of the entire horse. The hind end is made up of massive muscle groups like the gluteals, biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus — all responsible for propulsion, drive, stopping power, and pushing off the ground.
Underneath those muscles you’ve got:
• The sacroiliac support system
• Heavy-duty ligaments stabilizing the pelvis
• The hamstring group tying into the stifle
• Tendons that continue down into the gaskin and hock
Every stop, spin, jump, rollback, or hard drive forward starts right there. If those tissues are tight, inflamed, or compensating for something else, performance suffers — and so does comfort.
So yes… if they’ll let me, I’m working deep through the glutes, hamstrings, and pelvic support structures. Because when the hind end is functioning properly, everything in front of it works better too. 💥
