He is dog friendly and has had positive experiences with other dogs, though he may prefer to do his own thing - he would be happy to meet a resident dog prior to heading home with you!

Meet Bosley! 🐾💙

Bosley is a blue-eyed boy with a heart as big as his energy level! This playful pup lives for fun—whether it's chasing toys, carrying them around like treasure, or perking up the moment he hears the word “W-A-L-K.”

He's had good experiences with other dogs at the shelter and is a proud participant in our volunteer running club, where he gets to burn off his zoomies and show off his athletic side.

Selma is a 10-month-old, medium-sized pit mix. This beautiful girl is full of playful energy, puppy curiosity, and a heart that’s learning to trust. 🐾

She can be a little nervous at first, especially in new situations and with new people, but once she feels safe, Selma’s personality shines. She lives for squeaky toys, loves to play with her doggy friends, and is already so goofy! 🧡

Meet Nemo! Our newest sleepover rockstar! 🐠🧡

Nemo is a 2 year old playful, curious pup with puppy-like energy. He loves toys of all kinds and is happy to entertain himself, especially when he’s got something to chew on or toss around. When he’s in the mood to play (which is often!), he’ll absolutely let you know so that you can join in on the fun, too!

He’s mostly housebroken, doing well with a routine, and has been a rockstar with crate training. Once he’s comfortable, he settles in easily and makes himself right at home.

He walks nicely on a leash and will carry a plush toy with him, like as his own little walking buddy.

This sweet guy is still learning and growing, and he’d love to continue the adventure with you.

Parker is a sweet, sensitive soul who’s learning to grow his confidence day by day. He’s happiest when he’s close to his people—whether he’s curled up beside you, snuggled in your lap, or gently leaning in for hugs.

He’s also a certified nature boy, happiest with his paws in the grass and his nose in the wind. Walks are his favorite part of the day, and he patiently waits while you clip on his leash, ready to explore the world by your side.

Our Story

The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center opened at our current location on October 3, 2011, following several years of planning and construction. Our new facility replaced the outdated former shelter on Alum Creek Drive, and provides a clean, safe, healthy environment for the dogs, visitors, volunteers, and employees.
