Reactivity on Walks: What’s Really Going On? 🐕‍🦺💥

Does your dog bark, lunge, or pull like a wild thing when another dog walks by? Or maybe it’s people, bikes, or that one neighbor who wears hats?

It’s called reactivity, and it’s more common than you think.

Here’s the thing:
Reactivity isn’t your dog being “bad” or “dominant.” It’s usually a sign they’re stressed, overstimulated, or unsure how to handle a situation.

Maybe they’re scared.
Maybe they’re frustrated.
Maybe they just have no idea how to process the excitement.

Whatever the reason, your dog isn’t trying to give you a hard time—they’re having a hard time.

Some helpful things to know:

Valkyrie is officially 3 years old🥹

I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 years already, but Val has easily become one of the best dogs I’ve ever had or met. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but she has stayed strong through it all. Never would have imagined my life could have changed so much when I brought her home from the shelter❤️ best decision I’ve ever made!

She is my go-to dog to socialize other dogs with. She’s my best behaved dog in public, no matter where we’re at and she has become so extremely flexible to changes in plans. Honestly don’t know what I would do without my girl, I love her so much🥰
