We just got our new sign up at the facility, and it looks amazing! Huge shoutout to Printing in West Union for knocking it out of the park once again!

They’ve done several projects for us: shirts, banners, signs, you name it. Every single time, they’ve been so easy to work with. Great customer service, they really listen to what we’re looking for, double-check everything with us, and deliver fast. It makes a big difference working with a company that truly cares about getting it right.

We can’t recommend them enough. If you need anything printed, give them a call, you won’t be disappointed!

You never know what you’ll find around here.

Just another day with horses, dirt bikes, and kids… and Tonto’s not even surprised.

One of the biggest things I hear from people is,
“I just don’t want to mess my horse up.”

And I get that.
But when we lead with uncertainty, we’re not leading at all.

Your horse doesn’t need you to be perfect.
They need you to be confident.
They need you to be clear.
They need you to believe in what you’re asking.

Even if the timing’s not perfect…
Even if the cue’s not textbook…
Even if you’re still figuring it out.

You’ve got to screw up with confidence.

Because that horse is looking to you for leadership.
And when you hesitate, second guess, or start picking yourself apart—
they feel it.

I’ve had students tell me,
“I didn’t know if I was doing it right at home…
but I just heard your voice in my head saying,
‘Screw up with confidence,’
and so I went for it… and it worked.”

That’s it.

If you know what you’re asking,
and you believe your horse knows how to find the answer-
give them that chance.
Let them try.
Be clear. Be kind. Be confident.

That’s leadership.
That’s horsemanship.

One of the biggest things that’ll change the way your horse moves, and the way you ride, is simple: just look up.

I know it sounds small, but it matters more than we realize.

When we’re riding, it’s so easy to look down. At our horse, at the ground, at the problem we think we’re trying to fix.

But the second we lift our eyes and start looking where we’re going, everything starts to come together.

Our posture changes.
Our hands soften.
Our horse starts to follow that feel.

Because when we look up, we’re giving them direction.
We’re showing them where we want to go, and how to get there.

It’s one of the first things I remind people when things feel off: just look up.

Let your horse feel that shift, and see how much falls into place.

All the little things we teach our horses. The respect, groundwork, yielding, softness, patience none of it is just busy work.

It all leads to something.

Today I stepped off and worked my horse from the ground by my roping dummy and in that moment he had another job.

His job was to hold the rope tight, keep his eyes on me, stay focused, and stay with me

Not dancing around, not checking out, not trying to leave me, just staying present and staying steady.

That right there is what we’re working toward when we put in the time on the basics.

It gives the horse purpose and when they understand the why behind the work they carry themselves different.

You can feel the shift when it clicks.

It’s not just about getting through exercises. It’s about making a horse that can be thoughtful in the job you’re asking them to do. To be our true partner.

If you're looking for a horse that’s already got that kind of foundation and feel, we’ve got a few available with the right start, the right breeding, and the kind of mindset that makes them a joy to ride and work with.

Check out our horses on our website or Message us if you're looking for your next partner.

Just Standing Around…

I was just hanging out with my horse, watching another one being worked, chatting with friends, and in the middle of that conversation, I was reminded of something.

My horse was just standing there. Quiet. Patient. Minding his own business.

And I wasn’t having to hold him, fidget with him, or constantly correct him. He was just there. Letting me focus on the conversation. And I thought, man… we take that for granted sometimes.

But that didn’t happen by accident. Standing still is a skill. It’s something we teach from day one, and it takes time and intention to make it solid. But it’s one of the most useful things your horse can know how to do. Whether you're working gates, sitting on a loose rein out on the trail, waiting for your pattern to start at a show, or just visiting with friends.

A horse that knows how to stand and wait on you? That’s gold.

If you’ve got a horse that’s still learning, or if you want help getting that kind of solid foundation built in, feel free to reach out we’d love to talk about our training horse program.
