Dog show in Topeka, KS is coming to an end… Kipper’s first day in the AKC ring for points, he got Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and Best Bred By Exhibitor for his first 2 points! Unfortunately, the entry was one dog short of a major win.

Today, he placed Reserve Winners Dog to a 4-point major under breeder judge Russell D**e, which was a huge honor for our first bred-by.

Kipper will be on hiatus for several months to grow up and figure out his goofy boy brain. 🧠 He is just such a sweet and good dog. 🩵

🩷Proud breeder moment🩷

I heard from our Great Pumpkin Litter homes that their puppies didn’t care about fireworks during the Fourth of July or loud sounds in general. They have been happy to continue playing or going about their business, despite startling or unknown events. Kipper here has yet to balk at anything, and his first reaction has always been to approach rather than retreat.

Collies are known to be predisposed to being environmentally sensitive, so all of their early foundations and desensitization since birth paid off! I’m elated.

A little something for our special boy 🧡

In the meantime, I’m debating growing him out before we start showing towards our AKC Championship versus entering a few shows post-boards… Guess we’ll have to see!

🚗 Ventured out on a long drive to spend some time with a good friend and show in the bred by class for the first time… Best in Show Bred By Exhibitor Puppy (x3, 1 rosette not pictured) and Reserve Best in Show Puppy (x2)! 🌟

Kipper loved his new Beagle friend and travel buddy, W***y, who was tolerant of his puppy antics 😂

Now to focus on our move and my boards exam, which I wish wasn’t so soon 😩

This litter grew up with paws handled so frequently and is very paws-y. Kipper often responds by slapping 🤪

Happy 4th Birthday to lovely Mama Dally! 🍰💕

Over the past year, Dally has matured so much—mentally and physically—and blessed us with 6 healthy, wonderful babies. Today, she celebrates with a Kong duckie plush, tug toy gifted from grandma, and sweet potato bread (because she is sweet and a potato). 🎁

Dally remains a spoiled princess and claims her spot on the sofa every day. She is so special to me and has become our favorite ball of sunshine. ☀️
