Please remember as you gather with your family at the lake, beach, or wherever else, that there are parents, wives, husbands, children, and other extended family spending today at the cemetery. Just to try to be as close to their loved one as they can.

A super cool new hang out spot has opened in Lexington that doubles as a doggie park! Go eat, drink, and let your babies run around and socialize, meeting new furiends. They have a full week of specials lined up. It does cost a small fee for your pup to enter the off leash area. There are also breed restrictions not at the fault of the owners. Insurance companies will not provide you insurance if you don’t follow the breed specifications. The owners have gotten negative feedback because of this, but like I said, it’s not their choice.

You also don’t have to have dogs to go and enjoy the amazing atmosphere! If you don’t do anything else, just give them a follow and support their page!

Jokes on yall! My legs are just fine. We are gearing up for a busy weekend. Clean kennels and new blankets! (Yes some doggies are kenneled. No not all of them, but I stay prepared.)

One of the things about being a business owner is that I get to decide what my platform stands for…and owning my business means I have both the freedom and the responsibility to speak when something isn’t right.

There comes a point where silence stops being passive and starts feeling complicit. I’ve reached that point.

What I stand for:
• Humanity
• Equality
• Respect for all people, regardless of differences
• Freedom of choice
• Accountability
• Integrity
• Honesty
• Justice

What I do not stand for:
• Racism
• Belittling or degrading others
• Dehumanization in any form
• Discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community
• Suppression of human rights
• Authoritarian or dictatorship-style leadership

I haven’t spoken up before because I was worried about losing business. What I’ve come to understand is that business built at the expense of my values isn’t business I want.

This business will always reflect these values. If that makes someone uncomfortable, I accept that. If you choose not to continue doing business with me because of this, I accept that as well. But like I said before, I can no longer be quiet.

This is me choosing values over comfort.
