Happy Fourth of July! Be sure to be careful with your dogs as the fireworks are sure to commence. If your dog is fireworks sensitive, I recommend putting them in a back bedroom with a TV or radio on. You can provide a safe place for them like a crate Covered with thick blankets. Be sure to leave enough ventilation. If your dog is scared about fireworks don’t take any chances and give them a safe place to ride out the night! For pups who have never heard fireworks before, still provide a safe place for them and bring them out in intervals, using your training treats and retrieve and tug games to keep their focus on something fun and enjoyable as they hear the revelry in the background. Think in terms of short intervals, and then back in the safe room with the music or television on. The most important thing is to socialize while preventing a bad experience from occurring. Have fun and stay safe!
