Big weekend project at our house. Our 2026 litter officially outgrew their whelping box, which means these babies are growing up fast.
So we did what any family does on a Saturday. We loaded up and headed to Lowe's for lumber. Paul ran the sander (Charlie jumped in to help), the boys measured and cut every board, and we turned a big part of our kitchen into one giant puppy pen.
Liberty approves. The puppies have room to roam, room to start weaning, and plenty of space for our kids to climb right in there with them. Hannah has already claimed her spot in the pen. That hands-on time from day one is the whole reason we raise them the way we do. Charlie was right there with Libby the day these babies were born, and now the whole crew is helping them grow up.
It is going to be a few weeks before we get our kitchen back. Around week six we will start crate and potty training, but for now this is home base. Eleven puppies, one very patient mama, and a houseful of helpers.
Worth every board.
