"There is no greater earthly privilege than to be loved by a dog."
13 years ago, I adopted one of my soul dogs, Nora Sue.
Last week I lost the sweet angel who inspired Pedigree Pawdicure to begin 5 years ago.
Nora was rescued from hiding in a barn with her brother, Shep, at 8 months old eating scraps of whatever they could find to survive. She then found me and her new sister, Lyla, and they have been the dynamic duo ever since.
Through every chapter of my life since 2013, including college years filled with new jobs, new relationships, grieving loss of friends and family, dozens of moves and new homes, (even moving to Florida and back twice), the pandemic, and buying our first home and welcoming our sweet daughter in 2025...Nora Sue has been by my side, there to cuddle me through anything life brings.
I was limited to posting only 80 photos. These 80 are just a glimpse into our life and the memories accompanied over the last 13 years that will live in my heart forever.
From her rough start to life, she came with some quirks and anxieties. She inspired this business to begin so that those who love dogs with needs like hers could be met where they are by an experienced person who gets it and truly cares. What started as a side hustle turned into a real business that has served thousands of pets across 2 states for 5 whole years. None of that would have happened without Nora.
Nora was the sweetest soul and a loyal protector. She was very intuitive and would guard both my home and my heart with her love. She enjoyed running and playing hard, chasing birds she could never catch, playing ball, snuggling, and eating her cookies and anything, really. That girl loved to eat.
I'll miss you every day of the rest of my life, my sweet angel. Keep watching over us. I'll carry your love in my heart forever and the lessons you taught me. I promise to slow down, live in the moment, and never miss an opportunity to love the ones I hold dear. I'll be counting down the days until our souls meet again in Heaven.
