Sometimes horses come into our lives and we immediately know they will break our heart one day, simply because they steal it the very moment we meet them. That was Missy.
I feel so incredibly blessed to have known her and to have spent the time with her that I did. But it wasn't enough. It never is. She had a wonderful 32 years on this earth, completely surrounded by love thanks to her amazing owner, Kelly.Rest easy, our sweet, strong girl. You took a piece of my heart with you when you left. I love you so much. 💔

Just wanted to let all my boarders know I'll be spending the next couple of days hosing all the horses and making sure they drink plenty of water! The barn has tons of fans and everyone is either on night turnout or going out for a few hours early am.
We have a few golden oldies who will receive plenty of attention to make sure they stay comfortable through the heat wave so don't worry!!

There are moments when I question why I do this.
The long days without a break. Seven days a week. Never taking a vacation, a day off, or even an afternoon to myself. Sometimes it feels like no matter how much I give, it isn't enough.

Then I remember... it's not the horses that make this hard. It's the people.

The horses remind me every single day why I chose this life. Their little quirks, their unique personalities, their happiness, and the quiet moments we share are all the answer I need.

Whenever I ask myself why I do this, I just need to look at them.

And there's my answer. ❤️
