Champion Companions Akitas are large, powerful, quiet and alert. The Akita is a working breed that originated in Japan.

Although known to be a quiet dog (they are known as the "Silent Hunter" in Japan), the Akita has strong guarding instincts and will sound the alarm if an intruder breaks into their house. Akita temperament can range from calm to bouncy and aggressive, so the breed should always be supervised around small children and other animals. Akitas like to be "pack leader," so obedience training is also nec

essary for a harmonious household. The breed will groom itself like a cat, but daily brushing is still necessary, as is daily exercise.

He is a 4-year-old male weighing about 90 lb. He's intact and registered. He's looking for a new home. Looking to rehome at no cost just looking for a good forever home. He has spent his life with another female Akita so he is not male friendly when it comes to other dogs. He has been raised in home and with family and well taken care of. He is scheduled to be put down Friday if can not find him a home. The owner has had some life changes and can no longer care for him. His name is Batuka and goes by Took.
