🐾 Big paws for Barbara Downs! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that Barbara Downs has been named the El Paso County Parks 2025 Volunteer of the Year! 🏆

If you’ve visited Bear Creek Dog Park lately, chances are you’ve seen Barbara’s hard work in action. For over 10 years, she has been a dedicated steward of the park—leading the Friends Group, recruiting new volunteers, and even helping with the "unpleasant" tasks like waste removal and weeding to keep the park pristine.

From "April Stools" to "Creek Week," Barbara’s heart for service makes El Paso County a better place to live, work, and play. Please join us in thanking Barbara for her incredible dedication! 🌲🐕

Please join us as we honor Barbara Downs as the 2025 El Paso County Parks Volunteer of the Year at our upcoming Parks Advisory Board meeting on January 14 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Centennial Hall, located at 200 S. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
