Have you ever wondered how Adventure Pups do Dog hikes in Colorado Springs with the hot summer weather? ☀️🐾 Here are some Professional Dog walker / hiker things we do to help prevent the pups from overheating:

🌊 Find trails with water sources where the pups can dip their toes in and cool off.

💧 Take plenty of water breaks throughout the hike to keep everyone hydrated.

🌲 Seek out shady trails and shady spots along the way to give the pups a break from the sun.

When all else fails we head out to the mountains!

These 4 boys either met for the first time this weekend or met after months or years of not seeing each other! But with some positive greeting techniques these 4 were thick as thieves from the beginning!! I’m so impress with how well the structured pack hikes have helps many of my pack members gain confidence with meeting new dogs, creating neutral dog reactions and bonding unlikely pairs of pups!! I am so grateful to work with us incredible pups!!

There is no better feeling than having a pup remember you after not seeing them for years!!! Buster boy was an Adventure Pups client back when I worked full time accounting and had a daycare. He moved back to the Midwest years ago but I was LUCKY enough to hike him in Colorado Springs this weekend during a visit! He is normally nervous with new people but once he loves you, you have a buddy for life! Buster remembered not only me, but Chance too!! Those two wagged their tails so hard just pure happiness when they sniffed each other! My heart is so full this weekend ❤️❤️❤️

What a fun way to say goodbye to our SWEET, confident, beautiful, loving pack member Gypsy! She is off to move out of state but before she left her mom said one more hike!! So we partied on that mountain 😍 Gypsy was able to play with friends, work on recall and distractions, eat an amazing muffin, and share her love with all of us one more time before leaving. Man are we going to miss that little girl!! ❤️😍

Meet Aspen, our newest addition to the Pack!! She is SO sweet and friendly to every pup she meets! She fit into the pack right away. Aspen LOVES to sniff, if it was a sport she’d be in first place every hike! Her friend Lily would be a close second! She loves hiking with other labs but honestly just pups in general!

While doing our group photo Indy had other plans… 😂😂😂 Man was today a blast for all the pups! Lots of puddle splashing, rolling around and stick chasing! We had stick wars going on towards the end. Tako found a stick and lonzo said NOPE that’s mine! While everyone chased lonzo around sneaky Indy stole it right from him! Finally, Tako stole the stick back and was as happy as a clam! It was windy and cold today but the pups didn’t seem to mind one bit!

Don’t forget to water your pups with the warmer weather here!! Things to look out for to make sure you pup isn’t over heating:

🐾 Excessive panting or rapid breathing
🐾 Drooling more than usual
🐾 Bright red gums or tongue
🐾 Increased heart rate
🐾 Lethargy or weakness
🐾 Vomiting or diarrhea

There would be a centralized Pick up & Drop off location 📍 for pup parents to meet at.

Potential Details:
🐾 Pick up & Drop off N. Monument Valley Park
🐾 Reduced Pricing
🐾 1 hour Hikes
🐾 Afternoon Timeframe
🐾 Offered 1-2 days a week

Beautiful views are what gets the engagement on IG but the super fast zoomies, crazy tackles, and the absolute fun bonding time these pups get together is what lights my heart up 🩵🏔️ Being a Dog Hiker in Colorado Springs is a privilege I don’t take lightly. I look forward to our February hikes!! I even have a little surprise for the week of Valentine’s Day 💕
