So, we have had a few people reach out asking for an update on Ivy. Ivy has been in a foster home for a week and a half now and we are learning so much about her. Her foster Mom has gone above and beyond with exercising her and keeping her busy. She now has Ivy on a routine and everyday Ivy has been getting better and better and learning her routine. She has done amazing with crate training. The first few days in the home. Ivy was marking/p*eing in the house. If she was not supervised, even if she had been out or gone on a long walk, she would p*e in the house if left unattended. It has been a week now and she hasn't done that anymore; crate training has been really helpful with that as well. It did take Ivy a few days to finally relax in the home, at first, she couldn't settle and wanted to go go go. Ivy has done great with the foster Mom's dogs for the most part, but since they are older and calmer, she does tend to get on their nerves, she will want to play when they do not want to play, so at those times they have to be separated. So please keep that in mind if you are interested in her and have a dog in the home, it would need to be a dog that can match her energy because she really loves to play with other dogs. She has gotten better at taking corrections from another dog when she is being too much. Her foster Mom has noticed that the more stimulation Ivy has, the more hyper she gets, so she would do great with an active family, someone who loves to go hiking and camping, someone who loves to go to the beach/river/lake and play with their dog. She would do better in a home with a fenced in yard where she can get her energy out. It is great to know, that when you come in the house with her and you are calm and relaxing, that she can also be calm and relaxing, but you would have to take the time to play with her as well so that you can have those calm relaxing moments. Another thing that her foster Mom has learned about her, she will bolt out the door if you are not paying attention, she is ready to go for that walk and doesn't want to wait lol. Her foster Mom is looking into some training classes to try and enroll Ivy in, so we will update again, if that does end up happening. If you think you might be interested in adopting Ivy before she goes to those training classes, we can set that up as well. If she is not adopted between now and those classes, we will do a new update with no pictures after those classes are done. If you have not heard of Ivy, we will post a link in the comments of one of her posts
