High Bar Horse Farm

High Bar Horse Farm old school and new school combined to make one great horse! Horse training and riding lessons over 2 With horses you never stop learning.

Wow its hard to belive how long I've been enjoying my job and helping horses with people problems, and helping people connect with their horses. I've trained alot of horses over the years but really each one taught me something. If u think u know it all then you really messed up along the way.. I was born in the saddle unlike some mine isn't just a figure of speech.. so as you can imagine I owe a

Lot of thanks to my mom for everything. I didn't like it back then but every challenging horse taught me something. My mom was Jo Merrill/Joslin who was one of the best horse women around and known around the states. Horses have been in our blood for Generations. my grandpa was a horse trader and my mom owned a riding stable for ten years then followed her dad's footsteps of buying and selling horses for another ten years. Unfortunately my mom had past away and took all the knowledge she had with her. I was lucky enough to work with her most all my life and pick up alot of what she was doing. After she past I was lucky enough to use her facility to use as my buisness base for training and riding lessons. However I do travel for some clients but do charge for mileage. So I train horses and I give riding lessons. I mix a little old school with some new school to combine and make one great horse. I use several methods and techniques I converted into my own style. I do multiple disciplines english western etc...

3 day tune ups, 30/60/90 day training, and I also do specialization training in jumping, barrels, poles, gate problems, gaming and foundation of reining training. Oh and yes in my spare time I also do photography so you'll see some of that on here as well and I have been doing that for 5 yrs. I do weddings, seniors, little ones, family, maternity, and special events or shows. Refrences and prior work can be shown on request
thanks for looking :)

Why is getting a horse trained so expensive???
Let’s break it down…
If you a training a horse from the beginning/breaking and we only charge 650$/30 days..

You average 1 bale per day per horse minimum in training right now decent hay is 5-7$/bale let’s say 7 because in training you want decent hay, that way if u feed a little more and you get a ok deal you will average 7$ a day in feeding (now that’s not including grain they provide or supplement etc..) that’s 210$/30 days in hay

650-210=440$ left out of that now divide that by 30/days 14.67/day!!!!

Right now you can get a job at McDonalds for 15/ hour…

Sometimes you will spend one hour with a horse sometimes 3.. now don’t forget you have electricity for electric fence/tank heaters and insurance for business. Once horses get to a certain point we haul them places to get exposure and to do more with them so vehicle etc if something happens to your horse it’s covered.. now what happens if we get hurt training a horse we are out of work…

Now would you do all that work for under 15$ a day including all those expenses and risks?!?
So really when we say training for 30/days cost 650$ to start a horse we are not making a ton of money don’t say that is over charging people or scamming you out of money!!!
