ALLERGY ALERT!!!!!
Pet owners this amount of dust suspended in the air with strong winds will cause pets with environmental/seasonal allergies to have flare ups!!!! Remember a damp towel to wipe their entire body down including bottoms of feet EVERY TIME they come in the house will reduce allergen exposure. At end of day a rinse off is a good idea. If you recently applied a topical flea and tick product you will not rinse away the effectiveness if it has been on your pet more than 24 hours. Allergens are blowing in from hundreds of miles away. If your pet has been treated for allergies in the past don’t forget Zyrtec is best antihistamine. Allergies in our pets don’t just show up as coughing, sneezing, watery eyes. Face rubbing, eye irritation, ear infections, licking tummy or paws, rashes, hotspots, even diarrhea. Please contact Dr. McNeil if you have questions current clients can text or call. Yes I know ticks are bad! Yes I know you want your tick prevention medication! Yes I know you’re busy and a visit to the clinic is another thing to fit into your schedule.
Just like your physician, as a licensed medical professional, I legally must see your pet every 12 months to authorize or dispense prescription medications.

In the last 2 weeks I have had to decline Chewy and other pharmacy requests because I haven’t seen the pet in over 12 months so we no longer have a VCPR. Definition in the comments below. We send out vaccine reminder cards to your address on file. Some of the requests I have declined are pets that are overdue for Rabies vaccines not by a week, not by a month but by 2 or more months.

Angry, rude, or messages requesting your pets’ records further breaks the VCPR!

I’m here to help you and your pets. This is a local mom and pop clinic not a 5 doctor corporate facility. We appreciate our clients but must follow licensing law.

Happy Mother’s Day from the VECCS team! Today, we’re celebrating our mothers, maternal figures, caregivers and all those who give so much of themselves each day to your human or fur babies. Thank you for the love, care, strength, and support you bring into this world!

We also hold space and care today for those who long to be mothers and those who have experienced loss.
