School Bus Incident
Reported: 11/9/2023 3:53PM
Location: SD Hwy 13 near 215th St

On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office took report of a vehicle passing a school bus while lights were activated, and children were departing the bus. The bus driver reported seeing a black Ford SUV displaying a partial South Dakota license plate of 6JD. The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from anyone who may know who was driving a vehicle matching the description given at that time. Passing a school bus with light activated is a Class 2 Misdemeanor
which the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office routinely cites offenders. This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
