Heads up!

My most anticipated break of the year with my family is approaching, spring break! 🌼 🌿🍄

I will be unavailable for the week and “out of office” for taking appointments or responding to inquiries from 4/12 to 4/20, with the exception of my pre-scheduled Monday appointments.

Had such a great week with all of the bestest fur friends and giving them their much deserved pawdicures! 🐾 And it’s officially puppy season, so say hello to baby Arwen ! She received her first pawdicure with me today and was just the cutest little nugget and did SO well!

As always to all my puppy owners, these puppy posts are opportunities for me to help you!

Remember, your puppy’s outlook on pawdicures for their future all starts at home with YOU! You must work one on one with your puppy on paw and body handling, with positive association! Here are some do’s and don’ts to have happy feet!

DO:
✅Make body and paw handling a part of your daily training
✅ Always pair handling and touching with something positive like a favorite treat so the dog creates that pleasant association. Lick mats or stuffed Kongs work great for these exercises!
✅ feel confident with what you are doing, so your dog can match your energy!
✅ Set them up for success!!

DON’T
❌Don’t practice handling your dogs feet while they are sleeping. This is literally useless for real life situations like me coming over or bringing your pup to the vet, and can take them on by surprise. This could be all the more reason for them to be protective of their feet.
❌ Don’t ever force your dog into being handled. This sets them up to be resistant. Be prepared with a plan in place and keep interactions short and effective for better learning.
❌ Don’t just assume that the professionals will just deal with a dog who has handling resistance and you don’t have to do your part!
❌Don’t set them up for failure!!
❌Don’t give up on yourself, or your dog!! ❤️

This business adventure all started with a senior dog🖤

Seniors are special. They require a different level of care that I take pride in providing. If it stresses you out to have to haul your senior dog in the back of your car, as you watch them get tossed around with every turn, just to go to a groomer or your vet for a nail trim, let me help.

All of the senior pets that I work with, I encourage them to be as comfortable as they’d like, by staying on their bed, or laying their head in the lap of their favorite human. They can be stroked, fed treats, and comfortably talked to. Not being whisked away to the back room to be handled in the same manner as the s***ky 5 year old dog before them. These things matter.

Gentle and effective nail care can be right at your doorstep, and it is that easy.

What’s better than a Labrador puppy??

TWO Labrador puppies!!

When my client’s beloved 16 year old sister black labs passed away several months ago, they knew their hearts were big enough to welcome home a new pair of “sisters” to raise, just as they did 16 years ago.

Everyone say hello to Zinnia and Carolina Wren! 🌼 🐦‍⬛ Working on these gals little toes this afternoon was definitely a memorable one! Lots of puppy kisses, untying of my shoes, and playing tug with my pant legs😆 Let’s just say those Kongs were put hard to work today!

Excited to see these girls grow, and see how lucky they are to have such a dedicated mom and dad to their training and care!

Hi! Are you new here? I’m glad you are here! Every now and then I put up a “get to know me” post so you can feel confident and comfortable with your pet’s new nail tech! So thanks for supporting me and my small business!

My name is Katelynne and I am 36 years old. I have lived in Canton now for almost 6 years with my 3 beautiful children and incredible highschool sweetheart of a husband!

Straight out of college I got my first “real job” at a veterinary clinic as a receptionist, & quickly fell in love with the field of veterinary medicine. I was no stranger to animal care, as I volunteered many hours at shelters, zoos, and wildlife sanctuaries, and also took a passion for fostering puppies. Over time, I worked my way up to achieve technician status, and that’s where I remained for the next 11 years in various animal hospitals. During these years I worked not only as a tech, but worked to receive my certification in dog behavior & obedience training, and taught the puppy school at the vet I was working at, as well as offering private lessons. I also very proudly served as a therapy team with one of my (late) dogs for 4 years at a local rehabilitation hospital!

Then COVID happened and we all know what happened there. Life changed for all. A sudden halt. I took a big hiatus from teching and training to look out for my family and myself, and soon it spiraled into working very part time, to eventually not at all. I was content as a stay at home mom, but something had to give also with giving me an outlet for my professional interests.

I began Paws 2 Go in December of 2021 as a way to assist owners during COVID times when their pets were having a hard time getting an appointment for regular nail care at their vets and/or groomers, since I had already had these basic skills under my belt. It took off for me in such a way where now, I pour my heart and soul into every family I meet and nail trim I provide, for 3 years and counting🫶🏼This is my small niche in pet care that I absolutely love, and thanks to you, get to do every day. Sure it is the job that no one ever wants to do, but rest assured, I do.

At home I am surrounded by furry and feathered faces and am living my dream of hanging out on my own little small farm. I have an assortment of animals including chickens, ducks, quail, a rabbit, 2 dogs, miniature donkeys, an African Grey parrot, and a cat! Caring for animals is an obvious passion that I hope you all have come to see in me!

I can officially now call this little adorable landshark a part of the Paws 2 Go family! This is Murphy, and he was brought home by my sister in law a few weeks ago! Tonight was our first nail cutting experience, rather than me just being “Auntie”😄

Having this little guy get used to nail trimming is going to be SUPER important because he is going to be a 150lb+ giant when he is an adult. Any guesses on his breed?!

But For now I’ll take the smooshy puppy stage while I can!! Great job tonight little Murphy!!🖤🐾

Perfect puppy award 🥇 goes to my newest youngster, Hazel! Hazel’s family just adopted her over the weekend and she needed those little puppy raptor claws taken care of! She was the most wonderfully behaved! Setting your puppy up for success with nail trims and body handling all starts at home, and something I am (obviously) so fond of promoting! It’s wonderful to see families so receptive and committed to these efforts as well.

Great job tonight little Hazel, and welcome to the Paws 2 Go family as well as to your own forever home!💞

I know we are all trying our best out there with what we have, and I truly appreciate those who have been giving me garage access, a heads up about the conditions of their property, and especially those for rescheduling when they know their home is inaccessible.

UGH. We got hit with all the viruses🦠 in the family this weekend and it bled into early this week, and wow, it stinks. Anyone else feel like this year the flu and all the YUCK is so much more prevalent than any other year?! Yea? Me too. Thank you to those I had to reschedule for being down and out, and I continue to appreciate you all out there for rescheduling with me when you yourself don’t feel well! Let’s all try to get to spring now feeling GOOD!

But now I am back at it, and am so excited to welcome a couple more new friends this week so far! My long time fur client, Yardley, proudly showed off her new baby sister, Willow to me! Isn’t she a gem?!💎 And then there is this gorgeously groomed Bailey I got to meet today, to care for his feet in between his grooming sessions!

Do I have the best job in the world? Well, yes, I’d like to think so 🐾🖤Thank you all for sharing your precious pets with me!!

This week I had a handful of new fur faces to welcome into the Paws 2 Go family, and here’s the latest puppies to say hello to! Both under a year, these pups showed their courage and undeniable acceptance to my nail trims this week, which makes me so happy! Great job to their owners for understanding the importance of body handling and creating positive associations by training at home!

I still have daytime availability & room for new friends! Don’t hesitate to reach out!
