I say this to every single training inquiry I receive! You don’t have to hire me, but please do your research!
🔘 Does the trainer have videos of them training actual client dogs, not just their personal dogs?
🔘 Do they have client reviews/testimonials?
🔘 Do they have a website that lists training methods/services/prices?
🔘 Do they have an active social media with more than 5-10 followers 🥴!?
🔘 Most importantly - do you vibe with them? Can they explain things in a way that makes sense? There’s a ton of great people out there that really train dogs well, but suck at talking to the human. Let’s face it, the dogs are the easy part, but having the skillset to explain things to the owners in a way that makes sense and makes an impact is the true art and skillset of the job. The human/dog relationship and what the human is and isn’t allowing plays a giant part in the behavior of the dog and future success of the training!
I have had so many clients over the last 11 years I’ve owned this company come to me after going elsewhere with failed results. So I do my best to try to educate dog owners on how to pick a dog trainer. Sometimes what makes you comfortable and hearing what you want to hear is exactly opposite of what you and your dog need! Also, while cost does not always reflect quality, if you’re looking for a “cheap” and/or “quick” fix, you’re only going to be disappointed.
