Direct specific rescue/adoption requests to [email protected]. Coonhounds are abandoned in shelters because in many parts of the country they have very little value as pets. They are often kept outside in pens and sometimes do not even have names. They are often surrendered after hunting season is over, or if as young dogs they do not prove themselves to be good trackers. They can also b

ecome stray after wandering off, as well as falling victim to changes in the owners health, finances or living situation - like all shelter dogs. Because they are so 'common' in the South and relatively unknown in the North, coonhounds often never make it out of shelters and are passed over by other dog rescue groups.

C**t; male (neutered) Phoebe; female (spayed)
Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound
Color: Brown and white with black
Size: Phoebe 50 lbs.; C**t 95 lbs.
C**t and Phoebe are two loving and beautiful Treeing Walker hounds in urgent need of a soft place to land. Their owner is unfortunately dealing with a health crisis and cannot care for these pups. The mother of the owner is desperately searching for a good home for these two and doesn't want to have to resort to taking them to a shelter environment. They are good with kids and other dogs. They are healthy and ready to meet anyone interested in opening their heart and home even if just for a short time as a foster.
C**t is a male (a big, happy boy, in pics he's the one with the lighter color around his face), a family dog that would do best with a family that will give him a lot of attention and play time! He's very loving and friendly and LOVES to play ball. Phoebe is the female (the one with the darker brown on her face), a little shy but super sweet as well, likes to do her own thing. They do get along with other dogs and enjoy the dog park. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal! C**t and Phoebe are available in Bellingham, MA. Bobby & Jimmy will go from 0⃣ ➡ 💯 in the blink of an eye!

These 9 month old beagle/hound mix pups have lots of energy to spare, and they are keeping busy hunting for their furever homes 🏠 It would be helpful if they could sit still for some photos though 😅

Bobby and Jimmy get along well with other dogs, but they are not a bonded pair, and can be adopted separately. They currently weigh around 30 lbs.

Both pups would benefit from an active family prepared to deal with puppy antics and teach basic manners 🎓

Annie is an 8 year old coonhound who was originally adopted in 2022. Due to a move and change in family's situation, Annie needs a new home 🏠 Annie is a very sweet dog who loves her people and loves her tennis ball almost as much 🥎 She has done well living with other dogs these last couple of years, but would also be fine as an only pet or with one companion. She eagerly meets new friends at the dog park and gets along with males and females 🐶

Annie is crate-trained and loves to curl up in a ball on her bed but she would prefer to sleep with her humans if permitted 🛏 Annie is a high-energy dog and requires daily exercise ⚡ She will tirelessly play fetch and loves doing so as much as she likes her walks in the park. She would be a great running companion 🐾 Annie is vocal when she anticipates an outing or when playing ball. Annie would love a home where her owner(s) can be be with her much of the time and someone can meet her energy needs.

Bertha has been waiting ever so patiently for her furever home 🏠

This 5 year old American English coonhound was returned to the rescue this past winter when we learned she was best suited to be an only dog 🐶 However Bertha ignores most other dogs in public and is not reactive on leash 🐾

She has adjusted to foster life, with daily walks and frequent trips to the office with her foster mom, but she is still missing the opportunity for a furever family 😢

Bertha is a quick learner and has thrived in obedience class 🎓 She has even learned to peacefully coexist with the resident cat, although it took some time 🐱 Bertha has a high prey drive with outdoor critters and enjoys patrolling the yard. She also loves recharging her batteries on the back porch ☀
