Here we are the middle of August already. With hunting seasons just a few weeks away and after a lot of thought and discussion I am planning on retiring in 2026! With that being said I will not be taking in any new work this fall as I concentrate on finishing up the work that I have in the shop. I truly appreciate all of you and the business over the past almost 20 years, but the time has come for me to turn the page do some of the things I have been planning on for a long time. After the end of December when I know more of where things stand I may or may not take in a small amount of work but until then I would suggest you do your homework and start finding a new taxidermist. As if right now I have no recommendations for you. If any of my fellow taxidermists see this and would like me to send people your way DM me and I’ll see what I can do. As always happy hunting and good luck this year!

Edit: As most of you know I don’t do European mounts here in the shop I send them out to be professionally done and I will be around the shop this fall so I will take those in and get those done for you!

For any of you that have your deer antlers it’s time for you to get them back to me. Also if any of you still haven’t decided on a pose for your deer I need that done soon. It’s hard for me to mount your deer without those things. Getting them back to me now will help me keep the process moving along.

Well that went fast. I am very close to my limit of work coming in for this year!
With that being said I have left a handful of availability for some of my longtime loyal customers. If you have contacted about a deer that you are planning on bringing please do that soon so I can take care of it.
This wasn’t an easy decision this early in the season but one I had to make for my own piece of mind. I plan on taking some vacation time this year and maybe even find a hunting trip. Working 60 plus hours a week is not good for anyone. I hope you all understand that this is a business decision and one I didn’t make lightly.

Just a side note, if you have a European that you want done
I can handle that for you and I will be taking fish in starting in January.

Apparently there is a rumor going around that I am retiring, that rumor is NOT true. However once again I will be limiting the amount of work that I will be taking in to the shop. Doing that enables me to manage my time better and keep turn around more reasonable and predictable and also keep the quality at the level I want. I currently have plenty of availability but with the rut and rifle season coming quickly that will fill up fast! If you are lucky or skilled enough to harvest a trophy this year and want to have it mounted give me a call for availability.
