I've been struggling with coming up with words for this all day long. Write something, scrap it. Write something, scrap that, too. On and on it goes. The day after days like yesterday is always overwhelming. How do we come up with the words to express the overwhelming gratitude we feel? During Give to Lincoln Day yesterday, you donated the most we have ever received in our history of involvement with that campaign- well over six thousand dollars hard earned dollars made their way to us.
You did that at a time when those dollars don't stretch nearly as far as they used to.
You did that when so many of us are faced with uncertainty.
You did that when there were literal hundreds of other charities out there vying for your attention. You did that. You chose us.
Unreal.
Our volunteers that were staffing the booth yesterday were able to snap a few photos while navigating the masses. They had an absolute hoot, by the way. But one photo jumped out at me, personally. It's the photo on this post. What many of you don't know is that the pup in that picture is a survivor of extreme neglect. There were siblings that didn't make it out of the squalor it comes from. But this one did. And he got to make so many people happy yesterday. He'll continue to do so for years to come.
You did that, too.
Without you folks, we cannot do any of the things we do here. You make all of this possible. Every single action is because of you. You're the miracle these animals need.
Once again, from the very bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for being the engine that drives us.
We're so grateful that you're here.
