I put together a quick walkthrough of the three horses we’ve consigned to the Cody Horse Sale this weekend to help give a little insight into their personalities, strengths, and the type of rider each one is best suited for.

If you have any questions about any of them, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m also happy to get anyone set up with a test ride over the next few days if you’d like to see one in person before the sale.

Here’s a quick look:

Cadillac (Hip #78)
A draft cross bay roan mare with a true heart of gold. She’s the definition of a family horse. Gentle, intuitive, and incredibly adaptable to her rider. Whether she’s taking care of a young kid in the arena or packing elk out of the mountain high country, she carries herself with a level of confidence and composure well beyond her years.

Austin (Hip #33)
Draft cross dappled buckskin gelding and a phenomenal trail partner. He’s spent serious time in the mountains, in Yellowstone, and working cattle. A great fit for an intermediate to advanced rider who wants something dependable and steady. He’s carried hundreds of riders through our outfitting business and has earned the trust of every one of them.

Pistol (Hip #9)
Draft cross blue roan gelding and a true gentle giant. Big, kind, and as consistent as they come. He’s the same horse every single time you swing a leg over. He will make an outstanding kids horse, or a solid, all-around partner for someone who wants to do a little bit of everything.

Having these horses on our ranch and in our family has been a true privilege. Working with them has been an honor, and it is my utmost hope that they end up with people who will love and cherish them just as much as I have.
