In the fall, herds of elk migrate through the mountains all around us -- including a spot that may look very familiar to those who've been on our trail rides! Enjoyed getting to watch the elk in the meadow right behind the Lodge this morning.

Did you know that Henry and Bertha Dahlem (Mike’s great-grandparents) operated a sawmill here in the Grinnell Creek drainage beginning in the 1920s? The Lodge and cabins were built with logs from that sawmill. Today, the tradition continues — here’s a video from a few days ago of Kaycee and Nate milling boards for an interior cabin project. ❄️

We're sure looking forward to enjoying the Cody Nite Rodeo alongside our guests this season! Thursdays will be a busy day at the Ranch this summer -- the morning will start with riding horses up to have breakfast in the mountains, followed by whitewater rafting on the Shoshone River (or, as an alternate activity, a visit to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West), followed by dinner and a show at the Cody Cattle Company and then the Cody Nite Rodeo! Did you know that Shoshone Lodge and Guest Ranch is only three miles from the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park? During our all-inclusive stays, guests will have the option on both Wednesdays and Fridays to enjoy an all-day trail ride into the North Absaroka Wilderness or to hop into our vans for a tour of the world's first national park.
