The safety and well-being of our equine athletes is a top priority at the Aiken Steeplechase Association. Weโre committed to the highest standards of equine welfare, so you can celebrate the thrill of steeplechase knowing the horses always come first! ๐ฉท๐
Our dedicated team works behind the scenes to protect our beloved equines every step of the way:
โ๏ธ Every horse is examined by three licensed veterinarians on race day morning, with their past performance reviewed and random drug testing conducted onsite.
โ๏ธ We have dedicated equine cooling stations at the finish and stables, featuring large high-power misting fans, ice, and water to ensure the very best care for each horse.
โ๏ธ Our racecourse is inspected multiple times a year, measuring turf moisture and compaction to ensure optimal conditions - thanks to our advanced irrigation system.
