In a healthy dog (left), the femoral head (the ball) fits deeply and snugly inside the acetabulum (the socket). This allows for smooth, pain-free running! 🐶
With hip dysplasia (right), the socket is too shallow. The femoral head slips and grinds, leading to painful bone spurs and early arthritis.
