Good evening,
As many of you may know my name is Breanna Curry. I am the ORIGINAL owner of BeBe’s Barnyard….
With the recent discovery of information I felt the need to disclose the changes that have been made in the last year.
In August of 2023 I sold my business to new owners. I was devastated that my body was no longer strong enough to handle the physical demands the petting zoo required but hopeful that the new owners would continue to bring smiles to the animal-loving children around Brazoria County.
The sell included the bus, a starter herd of healthy, vaccinated animals and all rights to the well established BeBe’s Barnyard name.
In January 2024, we became aware that the new owners had been operating without the required business insurance needed for a petting zoo. This voided our contract and we regained ownership of the bus. Sadly we could not regain ownership of the name because at the time of sale, we had signed over the DBA.
Recently, to our surprise, we discovered the previous owner had continued to operate under the BeBe’s Barnyard name.
Many excited parents, school and churches were disappointed when the expected bus showed up as a trailer. Many times showing up hours late and the most devastating of all, with sick and even dying animals.
For those of you who know me and my business, you know that my animals were always first priority. This evening I learned most of the animals in their custody have been seized for animal cruelty and abuse. I was completely sickened to find out that most of healthy, happy animals that were transferred during the sale in August of 2023, were found to be deceased or malnourished.
The neglect and malice in this situation is far beyond what I could ever imagined. My heart is in pieces finding out about the death of my former pets, as well as the trauma that many have dealt with because of the previous owners.
I would like to sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart to anyone that has been affected by this situation.
If anyone is interested in financially contributing to help the surviving animals can call Brazoria County Animal Control Department for the vets contact info to donate directly. There are many animals that will need longer term care. Or if any one has had a less than desirable experience with the current petting zoo and would like to speak to the officers about it please reach out to Brazoria County Animal Control officers.
Thank you again, Brazoria County for all the support you guys have shown me over the years!
Yours Truly, BeBe
