FOSTER NEEDED! Two one-week old kittens that just came in today need a short-term foster home! They are currently bottle feeding, but they are eager to eat and good at latching to the bottle making feeding time a breeze! They like snuggling up together on their heating pad for long periods of rest.

They need YOU! No experience is necessary to be a foster volunteer, we will provide you with training and all the supplies you will need to help these kittens grow big and strong. Our staff will check in with you to provide support and guidance as you give them a strong start on their journey to becoming adoptable pets!

Happy 4th of July! Remember to make sure your pets are secure, cool, and comfortable tonight as the fireworks begin! Here’s a few tips to help make your pet comfortable during the celebrations:

▪ Make sure their collar with ID tags is on, and if you don’t have a tag, write your phone number on a strip of masking tape and affix that to their collar (it’s better than nothing!)
▪ Check to ensure your microchip contact information is up-to-date
▪ Keep them indoors if possible and in their crate, or in your garage if keeping them indoors isn’t possible. Just make sure they’re able to stay cool
▪ Playing calm music can help distract them from the noise and reduce stress
▪ Use calming products like the ThunderShirt, calming chews, and prescription medications (if your pet has them!)

Tonight is one of the busiest nights for Animal Control Officers, so be sure to keep your pet safe this 4th of July! Enjoy your celebrations!

While the 4th of July celebrations may be fun for you, it’s not fun for your pets! The loud noises, unfamiliar party guests, and fireworks can be scary and uncomfortable for your pet. Ensure they are safely secured indoors or in your garage temporarily so they can’t get loose and get lost. And make sure to keep them comfortable and cool!

If your pet is anxious, play calming music and ensure they have a place to be tucked in comfortably. Make sure their collar and tag is on and check to ensure your contact information is up-to-date with your microchip company, if they are microchipped. If your pet has anxiety medications, make sure to administer those before the fireworks begin. Make this an enjoyable holiday for your pet too!
