Together we can mitigate the effects of PTSD. Post-traumatic stress may always exist, but it doesn’t have to be a disorder. Our goal is to help make that difference by providing a series of six-week Herd 2 Human programs for groups and individuals throughout the year. We believe those struggling with PTSD can learn to drop the “D.” While we provide services to all, we are dedicated to helping our veterans. They have been there for us. We want to be there now for them.
Originally a horse training program offered at Willowbend Farm, Herd 2 Human evolved into a program that is proven to help humans with PTSD. Students learn about themselves and become more resilient through experiencing effective communication with horses.

You don’t have to have horse experience to benefit from Herd 2 Human. While it is hands-on work with horses, students do not ride as part of the six-week program.
Human is about inter-species communication. It was developed to assist with trauma recovery and general wellness by learning through teaching and sharing the love of horsemanship with others in such a way that builds deeper relationships and strengthens personal self-awareness. For years we have had the pleasure of experiencing countless stories of positive personal growth and recovery with those who have attended our clinics and private sessions, civilians, veterans, active military.
