Hello all,

I have some exciting news. Bright Spot could potentially REOPEN!! Shannon Bills is in the process of buying Sharon’s home. I met with her tonight to discuss the possibilities. She wanted me to reach out to you all and see who would be interested in being a part of Bright Spot again and in what capacity. Volunteers? Riders? Instructors? Bringing horses?

The program director at White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Morrison, IL reached out to me and they are in need of volunteers and anyone who is interested in becoming a PATH certified instructor next year. Attention all Bright Spot RIDERS AND VOLUNTEERS: We will be holding a get-together in memory of Sharon at Eagle Point Park in the South Shelter & Picnic Area on Saturday, September 16th at 2pm. Sign up in the comments for what you plan to bring, just so everyone has an idea.

Hello again everyone,

I come to you again with more sad news. Sharon passed away on Friday, June 23rd. She was a woman with a strong faith, so we can take comfort in knowing that she’s in the presence of our Heavenly Father and no longer suffering. However, many of us and our community will grieve the loss of such a kind and giving lady.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform everyone that Bright Spot is permanently closing. Sharon’s health is dwindling due to cancer that has become unresponsive to treatment. Sharon has been happy to serve the community though Bright Spot for all of these years, but even good things come to an end.
