I was invited to provide a presentation on Taxidermy and guiding big game hunting trips in Alaska at the Bangor Lutheran Church Saturday evening. The event was a fund raiser and a wild game dinner.

Current winter conditions at the Stephan Lake
Lodge in Alaska is 5 foot of snow and the carriage tours in Anchorage are a great way to enjoy the winter and the city streets

The banquet room at the Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, New Jersey all set up in preparation for the annual "Hunting Heritage Dinner " hosted by Dan Wyant Adventures held this past Saturday, February 17th, attended by over 100 people.
Guest speakers from South Africa, Alaska, Kansas and Pennsylvania gave presentations on various hunting opportunities. A great night enjoyed by all in attendance.

Along the Mississippi River this morning returning from a three day shotgun whitetail hunt in Illinois. Four of us in the group, we sat stands for the duration of the three day Illinois shotgun whitetail season, no luck !! We were on a property with s 140 minimum score requirement , only seeing a few lesser bucks.
The weather was not in our favor, east winds and light rain the first day, high winds and rain the second day, the third day was good but the big bucks did not read the script !!

New Jersey hunter Kevin Kinney shot this buck scoring 174+ gross non typical buck in Warren County. This deer will likely be one of the largest taken in the state during this 2017 -2018. Kevin chose the professional services of Dan Wyant Taxidermy to mount what may be a once in a lifetime trophy.

Our tent camp in wilderness Alaska and the Super Cub landing on our lake.
I like to tell all of my hunting clients, Alaska will teach a man his limitations, whether physical, mental, emotional or preparedness the lesson will be taught.
For now it is all good until next year when I will hear the the mountain wilderness calling me again !!

Oh boy, here comes winter, snow in the Talkeetna Mountains yesterday!! We had heavy rain at the Lodge and when the clouds cleared, the mountains were covered with snow. It is a pretty sight but does make me think about which bag my heavy coat is in !!
