Service Update Regarding Casper’s Dog Poo Patrol:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to close Casper’s Dog Poo Patrol effective immediately. We were able to provide service during the first two weeks of January before weather conditions prevented continued operations.

At this time, we can either:
• Schedule one final pickup once the snow has melted, or
• Issue a refund for any missed pickups.

If you prefer to transition to another provider, I have previously referred customers to Pet Waste Wizard and recently followed up with them. I’ve heard consistently positive feedback. You can contact them at (217) 714-6641.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed, and we appreciate your understanding and support.

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You & Important Update from Casper’s Dog Poo Patrol 🌟
To every single one of our amazing customers,
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for trusting us to keep your yards clean and your pups happy. Thank you for the kind words, the wave-from-the-window hellos, the photos of happy dogs running in poo-free grass, and for choosing us week after week, season after season. You’ve made this little business so much more than just a job — you’ve made it a joy.
After a lot of careful thought, family discussions, and looking at where life is taking us right now, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Casper’s Dog Poo Patrol.
This wasn’t an easy choice. We’ve loved being your “p**p fairy godparents” and we’re incredibly grateful for the support, loyalty, and laughter you’ve given us along the way. But sometimes life opens new chapters, and it’s time for us to turn the page.
We’ll be finishing out all scheduled services through the end of February 2026 / your last booked week and we’ll make sure every yard gets its final cleanup with the same care we’ve always tried to bring.
If you have any questions about final services, billing, or anything else — please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here and we’ll take care of you through the very end.
Again — thank you. Truly. You’ve been the best part of Casper’s Dog Poo Patrol.
Wishing you clean yards, wagging tails, and all the best things ahead.
With gratitude,
Amber & the Casper’s Dog Poo Patrol team 🐾❤️
P.S. We will be sending this letter out to all customers homes with a list of scoopers in your area so you may continue having your yard cleaned.

💩 Let’s Talk About Dog P**p (Yep, Really!) 🐾

Picking up dog p**p might not be glamorous, but it’s one of the most important parts of being a responsible pet parent. Cleaning up after your pup keeps yards looking great, prevents the spread of bacteria and parasites, and helps protect kids, pets, and the environment.

Plus, no one wants a surprise under their shoe! 👟😬 Regular p**p pickup keeps lawns usable, neighbors happy, and dogs healthier.

If scooping isn’t your favorite chore (we get it!), that’s what services like ours are for — reliable, hassle-free cleanup so you can spend more time enjoying your dog and less time watching where you step.

Clean yard. Happy dog. Peace of mind. 🐶💚

❄️ Dogs in Winter Wonderland! ❄️
Nothing beats watching our furry friends turn into absolute snow maniacs the moment the first flakes fall. Whether they’re zooming through fresh powder, diving nose-first into drifts, or just prancing around like they’ve won the lottery – winter magic is real for dogs! 🐕❤️

But let’s keep them safe too:
• Short-haired or small breeds might need cozy coats and booties to stay warm.
• Watch for ice balls between toes (those sneaky snow clumps can hurt!).
• Wipe paws after walks to remove salt and chemicals.
• And always dry them off – nothing funnier (or messier) than a post-snow shake! 😂

What’s your dog’s favorite winter activity? Snow zoomies? Building “dog forts”? Share pics below! 🐶☃️

1. What is the “right” nail length?

Ideally:
• When your dog is standing, the nails do not touch the ground
• You should not hear clicking on hard floors
• The nail ends just before the quick (the blood vessel inside the nail)

With very long nails, the quick has grown out, so you cannot cut them short all at once without causing bleeding.

2. The challenge with black nails (finding the quick)

Since you can’t see the quick in black nails, use these cues:

Look at the cut surface

After each small cut:
• Chalky white/gray center → safe, keep going
• Black dot in the center → STOP (you’re close to the quick)
• Pink or bleeding → you hit the quick (not dangerous, but painful)

👉 Always cut tiny slivers, not big chunks.

3. How to cut them safely (step-by-step)

What you’ll need
• Sharp dog nail clippers or a nail grinder (grinders are safest)
• Styptic powder or cornstarch (just in case)
• Good lighting
• Treats (important!)

Technique
1. Hold the paw firmly but gently
2. Cut at a 45-degree angle, taking 1–2 mm at a time
3. Check the center of the nail after every cut
4. Stop as soon as you see the black dot

💡 Tip: A nail grinder lets you get closer safely than clippers.

4. How often to cut very long nails

This is the most important part.

To shorten long nails:
• Every 5–7 days
• Take just a tiny amount each time

Frequent trimming causes the quick to recede gradually.

Once they’re normal length:
• Every 2–4 weeks, depending on activity level

⚠️ If you wait too long between trims, the quick grows forward again.

5. Extra tips that help a LOT
• Trim after a walk or bath (nails are softer)
• Do one paw per day if your dog gets stressed
• Reward heavily—make this a positive routine
• If your dog is fearful or wiggly, a professional groomer or vet can help get you started

6. What if I accidentally hit the quick?

Don’t panic.
• Apply styptic powder or cornstarch
• Press gently for 30–60 seconds
• Your dog will be okay—just stop for that nail

7. When to consider professional help
• Nails are severely overgrown or curling
• Dog is very anxious or aggressive about paws
• You’re unsure where to stop

A groomer can do a “quick-reduction plan” and show you exactly where to cut.
