I don’t usually post personal business on this page because it is for our business. I’ve been going back and forth and have come to the conclusion that many of you have known my dad for years and have grown to respect him. He needs your help and support right now.
My dad (who chose me when I was 5) has next to no blood relatives left. His biological daughter has hospice arranging her final care due to liver failure and she’s not able to get on the donor list. They recently changed from giving her months to live to now she only has weeks. This is Derick, his blood nephew, who’s been in prison since he was young. Illinois laws have changed which gives him a chance to get out. He spent over 20 years in a max prison and did so well they approved him to be moved closer to home in a medium prison a few years ago. Now he teaches temper control on the reentry wing at Danville Correctional Center. He is a peer educator/ mentor. Unlike the other volunteer mentors in the wing, he was chosen for the position. He already has a home to go to and work lined up. We just need to get as many signatures as we can so our family can be reunited.
