We completed another steel trailer refurb. A repeat customer brought this one to us with major rust at the bottom of the ramp.

We removed the rusted metal rotten wood interior and mat and replaced with stainless steel hinging new wood and a new rough top mat.

Turned out really nice and breathes new life into this old trailer.

Lots of trailer projects this week. Here's a peek at some of our work.

This all aluminum 2004 model farriers trailer came into the shop with major sub frame damage after 24 years of farm roads. With new trailers costing north of $20k we were asked to rebuild the sub frame and fix a list of issues. Here's a summary

✅ Remove existing sub frame and weld in over 20 feet of 1-1/2" aluminum square tubing for a completely new sub frame on both sides.

✅Replace anvil swivel hinge with stainless steel rod and tube

✅ Replace rear door hinges and adjust doors to close and lock properly.

✅ Full brake and electrical service.

✅Finish weld cracks in diamond plate.

Thank you to Fortunes Gift Farm for bringing in their show hauler for a huge upgrade.

This trailer is steel framed and very heavy. Raising the manual jack was difficult. We installed a Bigfoot 12k hydraulic jack with an onboard battery and automatic plug in charger. Just in time for the next show.

A difficult project that involved some structural welding to accommodate the new jack. Very happy with the end product.

Fans fans fans

We have had a bunch of requests for info about fans in bumper pull trailers. Here is a snapshot of one we added fans and lights to this past week.

This trailer had a fiberglass roof so we had to add some aluminum struts to be able to mount fans to. The installation is very clean and durable.

Another Brenderup floor install completed.

This one came to us with a severely rotted floor. We have done a few of these now so have a solid process for repairing back to factory standards.

Once we had the old floor out we noticed several cracks from axle vibration and very questionable wiring. We welded the cracks, cleaned up the wiring and installed the floor using 3/4 marine grade Baltic birch plywood stained with spar varnish and 2 part epoxy sealer. Finished off with stainless steel hardware and she's back in action for another 20 years.

A big thank you to Cassandra and Nancy over at Beutke Hill Performance Horses for bringing in your living quarters hauler for service. Here's a quick summary of what we completed.

✅ New Dometic Freshjet 4 AC unit.
✅ Removed damaged rear bumper step and replaced with new bumper
✅ Bearing service with brake inspection/adjustment
✅ Roof sealant touchups.

All ready for a busy show season.

A big thank you to the Autrys at Torihope farm for bringing in their trailer for a major repair.

The side load ramp had significant damage to the springs and pivot brackets. We removed the ramp completely, installed a 1/2 bar and new springs. Reattached the ramp to the trailer, aligned it and welded it in place. Ramp spring work is very challenging with the considerable spring forces involved. Pretty happy with how things turned out.

We also did the annual service and replaced some brake backing plates that were grease soaked with new Dexter parts.

All work fully warrantied.

We have been asked by many of you if we repair UTV's and other farm equipment.

The answer is yes. We have several machines in for work right now. This one came to us with a front end issue. We diagnosed failed ball joints and replaced upper and lower on both sides. Also did fluid change in the transmission as well.

Stay tuned for other projects coming up. Both trailers and farm equipment.
