Edna, Dr.Unay’s wife, is the Office Administrator and is an RN and has been an OR nurse most of her career. She was the Owner/Administrator of a Senior Residential Health Care Facility in Sparta. Edna coordinates and supervises strict adherence to practice protocols required by the American Animal Hospital Association (known worldwide as AAHA) an international association of veterinarians. and Canadian veterinary hospitals combined become successfully accredited. We pride ourselves in the fact that Clifton Dog & Cat Hospital has successfully maintained AAHA’s highest standard of accreditation since 1989. Sandie Conklin our receptionist and also a very competent animal technician has been with Clifton Dog & Cat Hospital since 1991 and has animal welfare at her core. “ So many wonderful animals and people come through our doors. I have truly been blessed to be able to come to work each day and share it with them! I have worked with Dr. Unay for more than 23 years and would like to attest that he is the most thorough of surgeons who never leaves anything to chance. All our surgeries from a simple neutering to a much more complicated repair of torn meniscus, in 23 years I have never seen any of these surgeries not turn out well. I know that I would not take any of my pets to any veterinarian but him. As a matter of fact technicians and fellow veterinarians from some places he worked before have their pets medically or surgically treated by him.”
Dr. Nicole Holleuffer is our Associate Veterinarian. Dr. Holleuffer began volunteering at the Clifton Dog and Cat Hospital when she was 16 years old.

During my fourth year of veterinary school, I had the opportunity to participate in an evaluated preceptorship at the Clifton Dog and Cat Hospital, under the guidance of Dr. Unay. Having been exposed to both a large university hospital and the community practice of the Clifton Dog and Cat Hospital, I was able to observe the differences between these settings. We are like a family here and it is a pleasure to come to work each day. I love the personalized relationships with clients and their pets that this practice provides and I am proud to be helping provide quality medicine to my community. Clifton Dog & Cat Hospital prides itself to having helped many aspiring students fulfill their lifelong dreams of becoming veterinarians. “I first started here at Clifton Dog & Cat Hospital as a volunteer to gain personal knowledge for my possible future career. I was able to observe Dr. Unay perform many examinations and surgical procedures. A few months later, I was offered a part time position which permitted me to have a more hands-on experience in the hospital. In the short time I have been here, I can honestly say that this hospital is a great place to bring your pets. Dr. Unay and all the employees give genuine services to each pet and offer every available option to the owner for the treatment of the sick pet. It is great to know they will do all they can to make sure your pet is happy and healthy. I am very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to be part of such an experience.”
