UPDATE: FOUND 💛🐾 (Thank you all!)

🚨COURTESY POST MISSING CAT Cohoes NY🚨

Her name is “Dumpling Kenny” she’s wearing a flea collar but is not microchipped. Last seen this afternoon on Miller ave in cohoes. She is not an outdoor cat so she could be hiding- if we can ask people to check in hiding places? Like garages, sheds, under decks, etc.

She is friendly- like belly rub friendly - but could be spooked since she is not used to being outside. Although she is a little chunky, she is not very food motivated…

I found kittens! Now what?

I hear a lot of, "The shelters and rescues are full." You know why? Because many of them ARE very full indeed. So your first thought 🤔 when finding kittens should be to find the mom‼️ She needs to be spayed so that her cycle of reproductions ends. If you gather up the kittens and leave mom, she'll be back in just a couple of months to leave you more kittens. 😞 Getting rid of the kittens is not getting rid of your problem.

Let's assume you have already reached out for information about getting mama cat spayed ✅ and you have moved the kittens inside to keep them safe. 👏🏼

You reach out to a shelter or rescue, but they tell you they are full and can't take the kittens. 😿 Many people get frustrated and give up at this point. Kitten season is a little like the day before a blizzard 🌨 at the grocery store. Everyone needs their milk sandwiches all at once and it's not fun for anyone. Don't give up!

The shelters and rescue are "full" because they have no more cage space or foster homes left. 👎🏼 So, the alternative you can offer them is that ⭐️YOU⭐️ will be the foster home! This is music 🎼 to the ears of many shelters and rescues❗️ You didn't bring them a problem. You brought them a solution. And you're already doing the work anyway, so why not do it with their support? Many places might even help you with food and supplies, if needed.

Being a foster home lets you participate and see 👀 the difference you've made. 💕

Instead of your first thought being to find someone or some place to take the kittens, 🔁 try to offer to help and be part of the solution for them. Be a hero. 😻

We now have Clynk Recycle bags at all Benson’s Pet Center locations! Just ask a sales associate for one.

Not familiar with Clynk?
Clynk is a program through Hannaford super market. That makes recycling so much easier and quicker! We have an account set up - they provide bags and stickers that are linked directly to our account. So all you have to do is grab a bag from one of the locations listed, with the sticker already on the bags, then drop it off at your nearest Hannaford! They will then credit us with the can/bottle return refund 💵

That’s fine! We still have our recycling collection containers at 4 locations!

◾️EARLY REGISTRATION IS HAPPENING NOW◾️

Kitten Angels warmly invites you to our Annual Black Cat Fundraising Event at the Franklin Terrace Ballroom 126 Campbell Avenue Troy, NY on Friday October 24th, 2025 from 6pm - 10pm.

We are returning this year with a bigger and better raffle table, silent auctions, live music, rescue stories, great company, and a great meal!

☆This year we have opened up the registration period early! From now until August 31st, preregistration will be $75.00 per person!☆

After August 31st the registration fee goes up to the normal $90.00 per person until registration closes. A chicken, fish, or vegetarian option will be available. Vegan option available if desired.

It pains us greatly to have to say this. Kitten Angels is closed for intake until we are able to raise the funds needed to cover the costs of our most recent emergency rescues and the many procedures that are needed by cats and kittens currently in our care.

We are also in desperate need of fosters! We have nowhere to place anymore cats or kittens in need.

Kitten Angels receives 40 to 50 calls/messages a day asking for help. We wish we had the funding and the fosters to be able to help every single person who calls. The sad reality is we just don't have the money. We don't have the fosters. We are heartbroken to have to say no so many times, day after day.

Kitten Angels is a non-profit rescue group. We do not receive government funding. We rely on donations, fundraising, and adoption fees to cover the costs of vet bills and medicines needed to properly care for the cats and kittens in our care. We are 100% volunteer-based and our current volunteers are stretched to the limit.

Our pet food pantry is in urgent need of a pallet of large bags of dry dog food (26+ lbs) — and we can’t do it without your help.

Right now, families in our community and rescue partners are struggling to keep up with the rising cost of feeding their dogs. Shelters are overwhelmed, and more pets than ever are at risk of being surrendered simply because their families can’t afford food. The small 5lb bags only last so long and the majority of our community typically have more than 1 dog and the rescues we help usually have 20+ dogs. So you can imagine how fast we will get through these small bags…
