Hey everyone, friendly reminder below:

If your dog pulls on leash
Barks at everything
Jumps on guests
Or ignores you outside…

You are NOT a bad dog owner!

You have a dog who hasn’t been taught the skills they need yet.

That’s where training comes in.

Most behavior problems aren’t “bad dogs” - they’re ✨✨confused dogs✨✨

The good news is confused dogs can learn.

If you’re feeling frustrated, overwhelmed,or embarrassed by your dog’s behavior, you’re exactly the kind of owner I love working with.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

🎉 Big News at Pawsitive Path Dog Training! 🎉

Kyle has officially earned his **CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed)** through the **Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers**!

This isn’t just a certificate to hang on the wall — it’s a commitment to you, your dog, and doing training the *right* way.

To earn this credential, Kyle had to:
✔️ Log hundreds of hands-on training hours
✔️ Pass a comprehensive exam on learning theory, behavior, and humane training practices
✔️ Agree to a strict code of ethics
✔️ Commit to continuing education to stay current in the field

So what does this mean for you and your dog?

🐾 You’re working with a trainer who is tested and verified — not self-taught or guessing
🐾 Your dog’s training is based on science, not trends or outdated methods
🐾 You get humane, effective, evidence-based training methods
🐾 You can feel confident you’re getting professional-level guidance

Dog training is an unregulated industry. Anyone can call themselves a trainer. The CPDT-KA shows that Kyle chose to go above and beyond to prove his knowledge, skill, and dedication to ethical training.

At Pawsitive Path, we believe your dog deserves the best — and this certification is part of that promise.

Help us congratulate Kyle in the comments! 👏

Let’s normalize medication!

Using a vet-prescribed medication to help an anxious dog through stressful situations is not giving up- it’s a kindness.

Medication lowers stress enough for your dog to actually learn. And learning is what creates lasting change. That’s why training and medication together is often the most powerful approach.

If your dog struggles with vet visits or car rides, start a conversation with your vet - then talk to me about training.

Visit our site to book a consultation. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Have you tried situational medication with your dog? Tell us about it in the comments!

Why is having a solid recall so important when owning a dog?

Because when they see a squirrel that runs into the road and they want to chase it, it’s crucial that they listen to you and come back. This happened to me today and we avoided a tragic accident because I have worked so hard to make recall rewarding for my dogs.

If you want help building engagement and getting your dogs to listen to cues in high distraction environments, reach out to schedule sessions!

This past week I took my dogs to the vet for their annual vaccines.
Both of them have anxiety at the vet so I made sure to have a pouch full of treats to help them through the experience. The vet staff was great and accommodated my requests to be present for everything and the vet modified his exam to make it less stressful for them.
Cooperative care is so important and helping dogs through uncomfortable situations is one of the many reasons I got into dog training.
If your dog struggles with big feelings in difficult situations, we can help!

Everyone, meet Maisie and Sammie!

Their mom reached out because she hasn’t had a puppy in quite some time and wanted some refreshers on training things like bite inhibition, loose leash walking, and recall.

We had our first session today and Maisie did so well she rewarded herself with a nap on the couch. Can’t wait to see how these girls progress over the next few months!

This is a tough topic, and one that I sometimes still struggle with.

If you are out in public with your dog and you see they're uncomfortable, you are the only person they can rely on to keep them safe. Learn more about why advocating for your dog is important and why is it NOT being rude.

When people think about dog training, they often picture teaching cues like sit , stay , or come . But one of the most important — and often overlooked — parts of training has nothing to do with what your dog learns. It has everything to do with what you do. Being your dog’s advocate means re

“I didn’t realize how stressful walks had become until they were easy again.”

Loose leash walking is one of the most common goals I hear from clients — because daily walks shouldn’t feel like a workout you didn’t sign up for.

Imagine walking your dog without being pulled down the street…
Without frustration…
Without dread.

That’s what training is for — real-life skills that make everyday moments better.

I take a limited number of clients each month so every dog gets thoughtful, personalized support.

I currently have 3 openings for new training clients.

If you’ve been thinking about getting help, this is your sign 🙂

5 Signs Your Dog Is Overstimulated (Most Owners Miss These)

• Suddenly stops listening
• Takes treats too hard
• Starts jumping or mouthing
• Zoomies on the leash
• Barking at things they normally ignore

This isn’t your dog being “bad.”
It’s your dog saying, “I can’t process anything else right now.”

When we recognize this early, we can lower the intensity of the situation before behavior escalates.

✨ Training isn’t about control — it’s about understanding.

Save this so you remember it on your next walk!
