The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce our newest member, K9 Mechi. Mechi is a 6 month old Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd and was purchased from Code 2 K9 Services LLC out of Omaha. Mechi has already spent several hours training with her handler, Deputy Michael Brooks; and the two will continue training in the next several weeks to come.

Mechi will not only be trained in Narcotic Detection; but also, tracking of individuals and evidence recovery. Tracking can be very useful if a person gets lost or wanders away. She will work alongside Deputy Brooks in searching for narcotics throughout our Community.
