We have a lot of well meaning people bring us what they believe to be orphaned kittens, but the truth is, separating babies from their mother plummets their chances of survival.
Many people assume we have lots of momma cats and bottle feeders lined up. The truth of it is is that I, the director, have 9 bottle babies under my and my husband's care right now. Momma cats are not guaranteed to accept other kittens and kittens won't always thrive under bottle care.
Please read this informative information about what to do when you find kittens. Also, PLEASE keep mother cats you own safely indoors where they can be safe. Too many times we get baby kittens brought to us because the mother was run over or killed by predators.
As much as we try, kittens under 2 months are the most likely to die in shelters due to stress, illness, and rapid diet changes. Don't assume a baby kitten is orphaned. Please read this great info if you've found kittens.

And best of all, SPAY AND NEUTER your free roaming cats so there are less chances of kittens being orphaned.
If you find young kittens without their mom, it does not automatically mean they have been abandoned by their mother. The mother could be out looking for food, or finding a more suitable home for her...
