It’s gettin HOT! Here’s how we leverage food to keep our dogs’ bodies as cool as possible👇🏼

1️⃣ switch from gently cooked to raw … in Chinese Medicine the less processed a food, the cooler it is for the body. We lean on raw almost completely in the spring/summer since it’s the coldest form of food out there (kibble is the hottest)

2️⃣ avoid warming proteins … chicken, lamb, goat, & venison energetically warm the body so we avoid them & only food cooling-neutral proteins like duck, rabbit, pork, & turkey

3️⃣ purposeful hydration … fresh fed dogs naturally drink less water because the food is hydrating to the body, so we make sure to give our dogs bone broth & fish jiggles for added nutrients & hydration post outside fun! We skip goats milk/kefir/yogurt tho cause they can easily create dampness in the body & getting rid of damp-heat is a b**h!

So many people jump to defensiveness when the negatives of kibble are brought up but here’s the thing…

If we care about our pets & want them to be healthy then we need to listen to the science & learn

It doesn’t mean you have to go overhaul how you feed your dog (although you might want to) it just means you’re looking to help your pet be healthy as possible in a way that’s realistic to your life

We all want the best fir our pets & sometimes that comes with challenging ideas & conversations💗
